move in the opposite direction."

Coordination of Initial Health Effects
Screening:
3TM International coordinates initial health effects screening
of potentially impacted communities. Working with toxicologists
and medical experts, we prepare health surveys, assist in
the conduct of the surveys, and provide the client with a
summary so that they can readily assess the medical merits
of the case. Health effects screening, when used in conjunction
with environmental multi-media data, is critical to defining
the case.
Laboratory Analytical Testing:
3TM International works with several commercial analytical
testing and forensic laboratories to design and implement
testing programs for the collected field samples. We ensure
that the appropriate testing protocols are selected and used
for the testing, and that the laboratories are certified by
the proper government agencies and other entities, so that
the results are defensible in court.
Data Validation:
The validation of environmental data goes hand in hand with
both data acquisition and technical assessment. Analytical
reports are scrutinized to make certain that the data is reasonable
and not associated with internal laboratory or reporting errors,
and meets the project’s quality assurance objectives.
Forensic Chemical Identification:
3TM International works with forensic laboratories and chemists
to “fingerprint” contaminants, and to identify
the source of their release to the environment. We have fingerprinted
PCBs, Dioxins, PAHs, Agent Orange, pesticides, creosote, hydrocarbons,
and other chemicals in cases to correlate contamination with
specific sources, and to track their transport throughout
various environmental media to the ultimate receptors.
Fate and Transport of Contamination:
3TM International can evaluate the nature and extent of contamination
with the help of computer simulation models, which provide
such key data as the extent of current contamination, contamination
gradients, the movement dynamics of groundwater plumes, air
dispersion, and other information. We have also calculated
historical contaminant mass and concentrations based on contaminant
half-life and other data in order to retro-calculate the magnitude
of exposure at some historical point in time.
