Environmental Fingerprinting Services

In many court cases involving environmental lawsuits, it is necessary to specifically identify the chemicals involved in the pollution; this is referred to as "environmental fingerprinting." 3TM International can provide the testing necessary to identify the chemicals. We provide environmental fingerprinting services for investigating sources of pollution in geology, geology hydrology, land use, and human ecological risk assessment. Our scientists and engineers have years of experience in their field and are recognized as experts in identification of environmental chemicals.

With the testing procedures that we use at 3TM International, our team will be able to fingerprint any contaminants that may be located on the site in question. We can identify PCBs, dioxins, PAHs, Agent Orange, pesticides, creosote, hydrocarbons, and other chemicals that correlate to contamination. We will provide supporting documentation to validate our environmental fingerprinting services.

Some of the technical services that we can provide in support of environmental fingerprinting services include: data validation, forensic chemical identification, fate and transport of contamination, damage assessment, environmental restoration requirements, technical reports, expert reports, depositions, preparation of courtroom exhibits, and expert testimony.

In addition to the services listed, we can acquire, evaluate, and summarize baseline data in support of our environmental fingerprinting services. We can even provide these services in the acquisition and/or divestiture of property. Our resident experts will prepare cite specific environmental data, historical research and data, public domain data, title searches, aerial photographs, Sanborn maps, site visit data collection, and other information that you request. All data will be independently verified to ensure the authenticity of our research findings.

3TM International has supported both sides in different court cases, so we have experience on both sides of a legal issue. Our projects have ranged from simple collection to testing samples for chemical identification in multiple year efforts. We take our environmental samples and test them for fingerprinting data. Then we will issue expert reports on your behalf.

Examples of environmental projects that we have worked on that required fingerprinting of the specific pollutant(s) include: Benzine, Hydrocarbons, Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs), Creosote, Pesticides, PCBs, Dioxins, Furans, Agent Orange, Toxic metals, Sulfur compounds, Toxic mold, Biological agents, and Radionuclides.

If you are involved in legal proceedings, 3TM's expert environmental fingerprint reports are based on the latest state of the art techniques to collect environmental samples of surface soil, subsurface soil, sediment, sludge, surface water, groundwater, indoor dust, and ambient air. All data will be analytically tested using our testing laboratory to ensure that all findings are defensible in court. In addition, we use independent experts to verify our findings.

To support legal proceedings our experts will develop and prepare court evidence in support of existing and historical conditions related to the site under investigation. This evidence is always the cornerstone of any successful legal proceedings. This will lay the foundation for a complete understanding of the nature and extent of contamination related to the property.
